The feasibility score of current PBF program is only 44% which is below the desired 80%. Initiatives are underway to improve the design. One of the problems is that the country has opted for a complex hybrid of obligatory health insurance and free health care initiatives that are not yet integrated into a PBF system. The consequences are the poor quality of care, poor verification of activities and frequent stock out of pharmaceutical products.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the encouraging results in the pilot phase of Performance-Based Financing (PBF), the Government and the World Bank in 2018 have begun discussions for a ten-year commitment (2019-2028) in favor of the Ivorian health system for a halving of maternal mortality and a third of infant mortality by 2028.
